The Portable Painter Classic, launched in November 2016, is about the size of a standard smartphone - just one inch thick and weighing only 5.1oz. This compact, ultra-light convenience allows it to fit effortlessly in a pocket, purse or daypack, yet it converts in seconds to a complete professional-quality watercolor painting system that's easy to use.

The outer case removes and re-attaches to the inner palette, transforming into two large water containers that act as a sturdy pedestal base. This base is great for use on uneven surfaces like sand, grass and rocks, and even allows the palette to securely straddle your knee for hands-free use. Twelve empty half pans (W&N size) are installed, ready for your favorite colors in liquid or solid pigments, and two folding palette plates offer plenty of deep mixing wells.

The palette includes a versatile synthetic double-brush, size 2 for fine detail and size 4 for washes, plus built-in brush rests. An anodized aluminum clasp holds the case closed, and when the palette is open and in use, the clasp can be stowed under the included silicone band, which can also hold additional brushes and pens.
